ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Surveillance video led Dougherty County Police to arrest three kids for breaking into three cars and stealing thousands of dollars in items.

The video shows three crooks go into Michael Davis' truck outside his home on Groves Lane April 2nd at 3:20 in the morning.

One of the thieves had a B.B. gun as they stole more than $3000 worth of camera equipment.
Westover High faculty identified one of the thieves.

Police say homeowners need to protect their cars.

Dougherty County Police Lt. Chad Kirkpatrick said "Lock your cars. If you have surveillance video make sure it is working.  Make sure you know how to operate it.  And it's not a bad idea to invest in some surveillance equipment if you can afford it."

Police have not recovered Davis' camera equipment... which includes S-D cards with personal photos.

The youngest of three suspects, now charged with three counts of entering auto and theft charges, is just 13.
