There was a new interim city manager at Moultrie city hall Tuesday night.
Mike Stewart took over the position on Monday, after former city manager Mike Scott retired after nearly eight years.
Stewart was previously Colquitt County's administrator.
He said he plans to focus on economic development for the city.
"I have done this before, so it is some contracting and consulting work. This was a really nice opportunity here to come down and work with people who I know and like a lot," said Stewart.
Stewart said that he has no intention to apply for the position, but is excited to take on this role temporarily.
He's working with the city's consultant to find a city manager.
