CAMILLA, GA (WALB) -

A Camilla group is moving forward with an effort to recall several city council members.

Leaders for "Citizens of Camilla Evolutionary Organization" say they made it through the recall application process.
They're now waiting for a Superior Court judge to set a hearing to determine whether to order recall elections against Annie Doris Willingham, Vivian Smith, Bryant Campbell, and Danny Palmer.

"We're very confident that this will go through,” said Kenyau Wood, Citizens of Camilla Evolutionary Organization. “We're very upbeat our attorney has assured us that it should be fine, that we should be fine."

The group accuses the four council members of violating the open meetings law, not disclosing financial statements, and violating election protocols.
