ALBANY, GA (WALB) - High school students from Albany were honored Tuesday during the Laws of Life ceremony by the Dougherty County Rotary Club.
Three students from Westover High School and four from Deerfield Windsor, all representing different grades at their schools, read essays they have written on life experiences.
Improving literacy in their community is one of the service goals of Rotary Clubs.
Dougherty County Rotary Club Developmental Director Izzie Sadler said "The Georgia Laws of Life contest asks children to write about character values. Something that is important to them and shares a little bit of themselves with others through writing."
Each of the students was presented with a medallion, honoring them for their essays and presentation.
