ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Brothers Package store, in the 1100 block of Newton Road, was burglarized by people who broke a hole in a concrete wall.

Management discovered the crime Monday morning.

Albany Police are investigating the burglary, and we are speaking to the owners about what was stolen, and obtaining surveillance video from inside the store.

This crime bears similarities to a string of break-ins that vexed police and store owners before.

Last March, seven accused members of the 'hole in the wall' burglary gang are indicted on 18 counts, for a wave of burglaries at Albany stores. Prosecutors say the men worked together to break in to stores last summer. Those men are not charged in this recent case.

They would use sledgehammers to break holes in the walls of stores and take money and cigarettes. Their plan was to hit stores in different areas of town to overwhelm police.
