ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Thanks to a loan from the state of Georgia, Albany's Thrush aircraft expanded their business and hired more employees.
Owner Payne Hughes says they've expanded their machine shop, and now they're able to machine more parts here in Albany, which helps with the cost and quality of their products.
They've hired dozens of new employees in the last year and a half, and may be able to hire more soon.
"We've added 75 to 85 employees already in the grant ramp up of this product line. So as the Ag industry continues to get stronger and stronger we'll continue to be adding people," said President and Owner Payne Hughes.
Hughes says he's also grateful to the Albany-Dougherty Economic Development commission for their help in getting the loan.
