ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Celebrity chef Paula Deen is back home in Albany to support a facility that helps children with disabilities.
She attended the Easter Seals' Crawfish Boil Appreciation Dinner for sponsors Friday night at the Albany Museum of Art.
"Anything that I can do that I can lend my name too to help my hometown, I'm going to do," said Deen.
Saturday night's fundraiser will support Megan's House, a respite home that gives caregivers a break.
"They feel and see the importance of the value of what they're giving to help this community," said Chairman David Prisant.
The fundraiser was named after Meagan Hollomon, who died from a rare chromosome disorder in 2003.
"It's great to have somebody like Paula to come and do that and she's giving her time," said Meagan's father Wayne Hollomon.
Deen will be at the Crawfish Boil Saturday at the Hassan Temple from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
