SALE CITY, GA (WALB) -

Dozens of people who own Miniature Dalmatians gathered in south Georgia. The 7th annual Miniature Dalmatian Puppy Reunion kicked off Friday at Mascot Dalmatians in Sale City.

Owners from as far away as Canada were in town for their pets to meet their relatives.

Mascot Dalmatians Owner Gene Connell began developing the breed 29 years ago.

"This gives people an opportunity to come to Sale City to see the birthplace of where their little puppy was born," said Connell.

Michelle Tennant brought her pet, Mya, from Tennessee.

"Because I got her seven years ago and I haven't missed a reunion since and I don't plan on missing any," said Tennant.

The three day event will continued Saturday with a dog whisperer and puppy parade.
