ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Deerfield-Windsor track and field is putting in its final tweaks before chasing a state title.

The Lady Knights have won 3 of the last 4 state championships including the past 2. This afternoon they got their final practice in before chasing the 3-peat.

On the boy's side, the Knights have placed well the past few seasons but haven't been able to get over the hump.

Coach Allen Lowe had both teams out on the track for under an hour. They worked on tightening up the hand offs and fundamentals of getting out of the blocks.

But Lowe also made sure not to wear them out.

"Right now it's just about getting our legs," said Lowe. "Being as fresh as possible. It;s a long three days between going through the qualifying and the field events and then the finals on Saturday. We just hope to be as fresh as we can so we can preform the best we can."

The Meet is at Hugh Mills Thursday through Saturday.

Teams from all over Georgia will be competing for the Class-AA and Class-AAA titles.
