ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
This evening 12 Albany State athletes helped charter the 69th chapter of Phi Epsilon Kappa.
The national fraternity is for those in pursuit of fields such as health and physical education.
Requirements also include having a 3.0 GPA.
The chapter's newly president is proud to be involved and hopes to raise money for the athletic programs around campus.
"All through life, just like my father...I'm glad he's here today," said Gardner, a member of the baseball team. "We've always been around sports. A sound mind in a sound body. It's just a honor to be the president and just to show people the way."
10 of the 11 sports are currently represented in the fraternity...including cheerleading.
