ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Darton state holds a promising 2-game lead in the GCAA.

It's the final year for Cavs baseball after the decision made with Darton State merging with ASU.

With that said, this group wants to go out with a bang. The Darton state Cavs have never made it to a NJCCA world series, but they believe this can be the year.

The sophomores on this team already made history last year notching the schools first conference tournament championship.

Now Scot Hemmings says his guys are looking to send Darton Baseball off the right way.

"This is the last Hurrah, and so this would be the first team that ever won a conference title, and hopefully the first team to go to the World Series," said Hemmings. "And then the last team in program history. So it's kind of a bitter sweet moment."

If you'd like to share in that moment, the Cavs are having a huge celebration at Darton state's field on Friday for their final Friday night home game ever.
