TERRELL CO., GA (WALB) -

A Dawson police officer running for sheriff hosted a meet-and-greet Sunday afternoon.

Captain Wallace Price of the Dawson Police Department organized a cookout for Terrell County. Price used the cookout to introduce himself and promote unity among the community.

Supporters of Price enjoyed food, drinks, and a live DJ.

“With my knowledge and experience of being in law enforcement and dealing with people, you know, I think I can get that job done as Sheriff. It's more than just locking people up as a sheriff or police officer,” said Price.

James Driver and Price are both looking to beat long time sheriff John Bowens.
