AMERICUS, GA (WALB) -

Kierra Warren, 24, is in the Sumter County jail charged with murder. She was denied bond in a Tuesday hearing, and remains in jail.

That charge was upgraded to murder Tuesday morning, after the death of Brandon Douglas, which was announced at 4:30 Monday afternoon

GBI agents said she stabbed 23-year-old Brandon Douglas Saturday morning around 9:30.

The couple was driving around Americus in a car, so it is unclear where the stabbing happened.

Douglas was taken to Phoebe Sumter and then airlifted to a hospital in Macon.

He lingered there in critical condition, until he passed away.

Agents classified the stabbing as a domestic issue, but details on the couple's relationship are unclear.
