GBI investigates shooting of a Tift Co. minor

CHULA, GA (WALB) -

On Sunday, April 17, 2016, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) was requested by the Tift County Sheriff’s Office to assist with an investigation in which a 16-year-old had been shot.

The incident took place at a house on Sumner Road in Chula, in Tift County.

The injured teenager was taken to an area hospital, where he is listed as "stable."

As the result of the investigation, Jacob Scarberry, 17, of Chula, was charged and arrested on Aggravated Assault charges.

Scarberry turned himself in to the Tift County Sheriff’s Office, where he was booked.
