ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The city of Albany is working to support senior citizens.
Mayor Dorothy Hubbard's Coalition for Economic Development hosted a forum Tuesday evening focused on helping seniors.
The SOWEGA Council on Aging highlighted its services.
The executive director says the agency has a $6-million budget, more than a million dollars in salaries, and their Community Care Program provides $13-million in services.
"If you stopped and thought about all the people we serve and took away that service, took away the building, took away everything we do," said Kay Hind, SOWEGA Council on Aging Executive Director. "It would be a major loss to this community."
Other speakers included representatives from Phoebe Golden Key and the Southwest Georgia Community Action Council.
