ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

One Albany tax location is taking some of the stress out of tax day. Liberty Tax officials say it's been a steady flow of customers at their Oakridge location.

It’s Tax Day and Liberty tax was filled with last minute filers like Lenna Kirksey.

"Oh I've put it off to the last second and Becky was good enough to reschedule my appointment three different times,” said Lenna Kirksey, Customer.

Owner, Becky Elder wanted to make filing taxes fun and easy with refreshments and entertainment.

"For those people that have waited we want to make it as painless as possible and make it as easy as possible,” said Elder.

Elder says customers have taken advantage of the three extra days to turn in their paperwork.

"We would've seen a normal large crowd of people on Friday we did, but it wasn't as large was what we've seen in the years past because we did get the message out that April 18th was the last day,” said Elder.

Last minute filers are in at the right time to avoid penalties.

"You don't want an IRS filing a tax return for you because that's what they will do if you don't file one in a timely manner,” said Elder.

Kirksey says even though she waited late to file her tax return, it was a quick process.

"Speedy, actually they got me right in and right with a representative, so everything is really good here,” said Kirksey.

Tax officials say you can get an extension, but if you think you will owe taxes, you have to go ahead and pay up to avoid a penalty.
