ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A professional football and rapper are giving back to their hometown community.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Ricardo Lockette and Smoke from Field Mob treated their friends and family to a stadium sized cookout.

Hundreds of people came out to enjoy the refreshments, music, and weather at the West Gordon Softball Complex.

Lockette was astonished at the amount of community support he has received.

"There is a lot of senseless violence going on as you see on the news, and I wanted to find something positive i could do for the community.  I'm just really appreciative that they were supportive of it and that they came out in the numbers that they came out,” said Lockette.

Lockette said he is excited for his next opportunity to help out the community, and if anyone has any ideas, send them his way.
