ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Darton State softball celebrated its 7 sophomores in a doubleheader against Gordon College.

The first game saw the Lady Cavs trail 5-2 in the bottom of the 7th, but in front of the packed home crowd, Brianna Billie had a walk-off inside the park grand slam. Darton won 6-5, and Billie was excited for her team.

"This was a really big day for us," said Billie. "So for us to be down 5-2 the whole game, and just to come back and win was just a great feeling."

"It's just huge," said Darton's coach Amber Miles. "And I think honestly the thought of it being sophomore day has added more emotion than we've been playing with, so I think that's been hard too, but we've got to learn how to control that part and know that we're still just playing a game.

The Lady Cavs won the second game 11-6 after a dominating 4-run first inning kept the momentum going.

Darton State (9-5 in the GCAA) closes the season at home Tuesday with a doubleheader against Andrew college.
