LEESBURG, GA (WALB) - Dozens of people came out to remember the lives of a mother and son found dead in their apartment.
Friends and neighbors of Sarah and Jabari Alling shared a moment of silence and talked about memories of the two.
The mother and son were found Wednesday with gunshot wounds in their Kinchafoonee Drive apartment.
Many of Jabari's classmates from Lee County primary were in attendance.
The vigil organizer hoped those in attendance thought about the value of life.
"Just because they're here today does not mean they'll be here tomorrow because we never expected this, never. It was a shock to the community, especially to the class," said vigil organizer Kimberly Hartley.
The vigil ended with the release of balloons for Jabari and Sarah.
GBI agents have not yet said if the incident was a murder, suicide, or involved another person.
