ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany Firefighters are trying to determine the cause of a mysterious fire Thursday evening at a vacant home on West First Avenue.

Firefighters were called to a small blaze in the home in the 800 block of West First at about 6:30 a.m.

There was fire and smoke damage to an east bedroom.

It appeared the fire started in a window air conditioner in the room, but the cause is still under investigation.

"There was no power. It was raining. It could be lightning. It could be many things. We don't know. We're still investigating," said Investigator Sam Harris.

Anyone with information about the cause of the mysterious fire is asked to call CrimeSTOPPERS at 436-TIPS. You could earn a reward.
