MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

Throughout next week, Moultrie residents can clean up properties of litter, debris, old furniture, even junk cars. Public works will come by and pick up that junk, free.

And with the county's landfill closed after a devastating fire, the public works department believes next week will be their most successful 'Spring Cleanup Week' yet.

"What we ask the citizens to do is put it out on Monday and Tuesday, and we'll pick it up on Wednesday. But since its all week, we will come back Thursday and Friday and pick it up," said Bruce Terrell Solid Waste Coordinator.

There will be an electronic recycling event on Wednesday Georgia State Farmers Market.

Call the City of Moultrie Public Works Department at 668-5423 to schedule a time haulers can come by your house next week.
