DOOLY CO., GA (WALB) -

A day-long armed stand-off has just ended in Dooly County near Vienna.

Dooly County sheriff deputies and the Tri-County Special Response Team had been surrounding a house on Nelson's Corner Road since 7:00AM Friday.

According to the sheriff, the stand off ended around 3:20PM Friday, shortly after a man who said he owned the home, came out and fired three shots at deputies.

Deputies responded by throwing tear gas towards the man's home.

Earlier in the day, he called WALB, along with other media outlets, to tell the station what was going on.

WALB is following this story closely and will bring you new information as it comes in.
