ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A group of former and current athletes and musicians are feeding the hungry in Albany.

'Athletes Saving Our Youth' and J & K Entertainment fed those in need at the Albany Rescue Mission Thursday evening.

They do this every Thursday, rain or shine.

They're now organizing a food drive to get the community involved.

"There will be different spots around Albany that you can go and donate food," said Jerry Funderburk with J & K Entertainment.

"It's not all about just feeding them. We're also looking to go into more depth into also helping these guys with resume building, trying to help them find jobs. It's not all about the food," explained Rantiez Williams with Athletes Saving Our Youth.

The community can help by donating canned goods, paper plates and silverware.

"Athletes Saving Our Youth" also provides football skills and drills training for rising 8th to 12th grade students. You can participate by calling Rantiez Williams at 770-927-5541.
