ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Six South Georgians are indicted for conspiracy in the armed robbery and murder of an Albany man who was run down on one of the busiest streets in East Albany.
Rodriquez Richardson, Michael Stephens, and William Jackson were indicted for murder and armed robbery.
Three other men were indicted for conspiracy to help them hide from police.
Prosecutors say all six knew Petrocelli Williams.
He was beaten with a gun in September, then dumped onto the road on East Oglethorpe Boulevard and run over.
He apparently had a large sum of money on him," said Dougherty Co. District Attorney Greg Edwards. "And the allegations are that the conspiracy to steal the money from Mr. Williams occurred during the course of these events.
The indictment charges that Richardson, Stephens, and Jackson were in the car when Williams was killed.
The other three are charged with lying to police or hindering apprehension of the three.
