ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

150 high achieving graduating seniors statewide were recently honored by the Georgia Department of Education, including three from Westover High School.

Ed Belocura, Grant Brunson and Juliette Hu were named Georgia Scholars.

They said they're honored to be chosen by the program that recognizes students for excellence in school and in their community.

"I feel pretty good, it makes me feel like all of my years here were worth it," said Belocura.

"The fact that we've got three Georgia scholars says a lot," said Brunson.

"This has been a really blessed year. It's truly an honor to be named a Georgia Scholar," explained Hu.

Belocura will attend UGA, Brunson is going to Georgia Tech and Hu hasn't decided between Cal Tech or UC Berkeley.
