ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Lady golden Rams are preparing intensely for an upcoming rivalry doubleheader.

Tomorrow afternoon the ASU takes on Valdosta State on the road. The Blazers are ranked Number 12 in the nation in the  NFCA Division II.

In the 10 seasons Thomas Macera has led Valdosta state, ASU hasn't notched one win.

Robert Skinner is relying on his pitcher Tiffany Massey to set the tone tomorrow. The junior is also the leadoff hitter, and will be integral to an offense that has struggled as of late.

"She has to have a good game defensively firs of all," said Skinner. "She has to be able to hit her spots. She has to be able to mix the pitches up and she's got to be able to keep the batters off balance regardless of who we're playing. And another thing is she's got to get on base. She has to hit the ball."

"It's a lot (of pressure) because I am the key," said Massey. "I'm the first batter, so the first batter has to get on (base) so me not getting on that puts us in a hole because we're already one out down."

The first pitches are scheduled for 4 and 6 at Valdosta State as the Lady Rams try and build up momentum before returning to SIAC play.
