Wanted man arrested after chase

GRADY COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

“I'm actually a little bit shaken up myself,” says Lee County man John Richards.

Lee County man John Richards and his family were headed to Florida when they found themselves in the middle of a police chase on U.S. 19 just before noon today.

They sent us photos of the chase.

The Grady County Sheriff's Office tells us Eric Ronald Houston (HOUSE-TON) has outstanding warrants in Georgia and Florida.

Deputies attempted to pull him over outside Cairo and Houston led deputies on a chase through Meigs, and ended up on U.S. 19 towards Thomasville.

“The sheriff's deputy that got out of the truck, he had his gun drawn, and I was like okay this guy is either going to get shot, because in Georgia we don't play,  but either he's going to get shot, or he's going to stop. And by that time he stopped,” says Richards.

Houston is now charged with fleeing and eluding and failure to stop at a stop sign.

He had existing warrants for misdemeanor obstruction and violation of probation... as well as other warrants in Leon County, Florida.
