Huge tree falls on Albany man's greenhouse, with him inside

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Gary Hamm said "I got out with just a scratch on my wrist, so I feel like I was very lucky."
An Albany man miraculously survives when a huge oak tree falls on the greenhouse he was in.

The huge old oak tree in Gary Hamm's yard fell suddenly about 10 Tuesday morning.
The 30 foot high tree, weighing several tons, fell without warning.

It crushed Hamm's shed with all his power tools and vehicles inside.  Also his boat and his travel trailer, and smashed down into the green house where Hamm was inside, getting his garden ready.
"I'm terrified," said Hamm. "I can literally just see those limbs coming through the roof of this thing.  And the roof coming down on top of me.  And I squatted down under a work bench in there."

Hamm had to crawl out of the smashed shed, through a gap in the limbs.  He is still not sure the condition of his equipment and vehicles, until the tree is cut away.

But the most important thing, he got out with only one scratch on his arm.
