ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany authorities now say the mysterious weekend death of an East Albany man is a homicide.

Officials obtained autopsy results from the GBI Crime Lab, on 35 year old John Duke's body.

Duke's body was found outside his mobile home at 1001 Dunes Avenue about 9:30 Saturday morning. Neighbors out walking spotted the body and called Police.

Prosecutors said at the time, there were no obvious visible sign of the cause of death, but the police investigation gave them cause to continue to look into it as a homicide.

Dougherty District Attorney Greg Edwards said "There were witnesses that overheard events. Perhaps.  And we are trying to get a full evaluation of that information, relative to any other forensic evidence that we gather from the scene."

Duke's death is now the third homicide of the year in Dougherty County.
