Bar busted for Sunday sales

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany Police shutdown a downtown bar last night, for selling alcohol in violation of operating hours restrictions.

Officers closed Levels Lounge in the 200 block of West Broad Avenue at 8:30. They said the Lounge was serving alcohol, but the kitchen was closed and they were not serving food.

License agreements require Albany restaurants that sell alcohol on Sunday to make more than 50 percent of their annual earnings on food.

Officers say there was also a strong odor of marijuana in the business.

The manager said she misunderstood the license requirements.
