ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Georgia Firebirds took down the Savannah Steam 43-34 for their first regular season victory of the year.

Friday night at the Firebirds last practice, head coach Antwone Savage guaranteed a victory at the Civic center.

Thanks to a 27-point 3rd quarter, the Firebirds made good on the promise.

Next Saturday the Firebirds will face the Myrtle Beach Freedom on the road.
