ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An east Albany woman says a swimming pool at an abandoned home on her street poses health and crime concerns for the neighborhood. Wendy Laramore says the pool behind a dilapidated house on Mitchell Avenue is filling with water again.

City officials drained the pool a couple of months ago because of complaints.

Laramore says she has heard people in the garage next to the pool, even though it is fenced off.

Laramore says mosquitoes are forcing her to keep her family away."I have a granddaughter that is expecting a child.

And I don't want her over here, because it's so bad over here. I don't want something to happen to my great grandchild," said Laramore.

City officials say the house has been donated to a veterans' relief organization.

Workers will be sent to drain the pool next week, but will have to wait for the organization to take further action.

Meanwhile, Laramore says she plans to move.
