DECATUR CO., GA (WALB) - A Decatur County man is behind bars after investigators say he doused his wife in gasoline and threatened to shoot her with a crossbow.
David Robertson, 57, now faces several charges, including aggravated assault and terroristic threats.
Bainbridge public safety officers say Robertson poured gasoline on his wife early Thursday morning.
The wife called 911 for help.
"The front of the crossbow, the forearm, breached through the door to where I could reach up and grab it. That's when I grabbed the crossbow and pushed it upwards. That's when he fired it," said public safety investigator Chip Nix.
No one was injured.
Officers say when they tried to arrest Robertson, he attempted to take one of their guns.
Robertson was later arrested and taken to the Decatur Co. jail.
