ALBANY, GA (WALB) - With eight games left in the regular season, the Lady Cavs are tying up the loose ends to ensure they finish with the best possible seed for the region tournament.
The region is currently wide open and Darton State is sitting in third place.
Only the top six teams make the postseason, and the Lady Cavaliers can't afford back to back losses like what they suffered Tuesday to Tallahassee Community College.
Head coach Amber Miles feels good about her team's form.
She said she doesn't want the team to get too high, or low, and she loves the way the team has bonded throughout the year.
"Just learning how to sacrifice yourself," said Miles. "Literally. rather it's a sacrifice bunt, sacrifice hit, learning to move runners over so that we get into scoring position. We've done what we needed to do and we've learned how to piece that together better than we were at the beginning of the season."
The home double header against South Georgia is Saturday afternoon. First pitches are scheduled for 1 and 3.
