WALB replaces weather with GRIT Network

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

WALB has replaced its 24/7 Weather channel with the GRIT Network. It was not an easy change to make, but a necessary one.

The company that supplies WALB's 24/7 Weather channel has gone out of business, and no longer supports the ability to provide the service.

When the 24/7 Weather channel launched, most of WALB's free digital products, including our News app, First Alert Weather app, and Locker Room Report app didn't exist.

Now with the power of digital, personal weather forecasts with up to the minute conditions, and location-based alerts are free to anyone with an iPhone or Android smartphone.

The GRIT Network "TV With Backbone" launched on WALB DT3 and on Mediacom channel 26 on April 1st, 2016.

Grit TV is in Albany, Bainbridge and Thomasville on the same channel 26. However, we have Grit TV is on channel 22 in towns east of Albany.
