DOUGLAS, GA (WALB) - Officials with the Coffee Co. Sheriff say the Douglas –Coffee Drug Unit and the Georgia State Patrol on a traffic stop Wednesday on Ramblewood Road in Coffee Co. because the driver was weaving in traffic and had no seatbelt.
They said the driver, Carl Leslie Chaney of Weeks Road in Douglas, had illegal drugs in the car.
Officers confiscated small amounts of methamphetamine and marijuana.
Chaney was charged with intent to distribute methamphetamine (12.4 grams) and possession of marijuana less than ounce (15.4 grams). Chaney was also charged with two traffic citations.
Sheriff Doyle Wooten said, "I would like to thank all the officers that continue to work towards ridding our community of these illegal drugs as well as the citizens that are reporting suspicious activities and concerns so that we can target areas that need to be addressed."
