Lt. Cliff Rouse Memorial Ride promises to be biggest yet

DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) - The 6th Annual Lt. Cliff Rouse Memorial Ride promises to be the biggest yet.

Saturday150 motorcyclists from across the south are expected to take part in the dice ride in memory of the former Dougherty County Police officer.

Lt. Rouse was shot and killed pursuing an armed robber on December 23, 2010.

The ride raises money for the COPS Foundation, to benefit the families of fallen officers in Georgia.

Former Dougherty County Police Chief Don Cheek said "We want to make sure the officers lost in the line of duty are never forgotten.  We made that pledge to the Rouse family.  But the community support on this has just been unbelievable."

The ride will leave American Legion Post 30 on Gillionville Road at 10:30 Saturday, April 2nd..
he event will also include music, food, and a raffle for an AR-15 rifle.
