Soggy ground and frequent rain are delaying many construction projects across South Georgia.
The 336-thousand dollar Marlowe Road extension at Highway 82 and Fussell Road in Lee County is a couple weeks behind schedule.
Even on a dry day like today, the ground is so saturated, crews can't operate heavy equipment.
County leaders say paving this quarter-mile road will increase connectivity for citizens.
“Cut through road basically that is good for commercial development. We have worked very hard over the years to get more connectivity in Lee County," says Lee County Commissioner Billy Mathis.
