Pelham argument leads to shooting, arrest

PELHAM, GA (WALB) -

A Pelham man is behind bars, after investigators say he shot a man after an argument. Police arrested 22-year-old Jarvis Florence Tuesday night.

Investigators say Florence and 20-year-old Lorenzo Church got into an altercation at the Petro station, that continued onto Hill street.

Church was shot in the abdomen and taken to the hospital. "The victim was actually able to identify the shooter and stated that Florence is the one who shot him.  Also several witnesses identified the shooter as Florence," said Assistant Chief Rod Williams  Pelham Police Dept.    

Church is still in the hospital but is expected to be okay.

Florence is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and criminal trespass.
