Victim arrested in South Albany shooting

Albany Police arrest a shooting victim. 32-year old Russell Haynes is charged with aggravated assault, as well as cocaine, marijuana, and gun offenses. 

He was shot in the abdomen about 3:00 Monday afternoon in a duplex in the 1100 block of Avalon Avenue. 

23-year-old Nigel Shorter was also arrested for aggravated assault and a gun crime. 

Police say he and 23-year-old Jamarious Wright were in the home when Haynes confronted them.

During a fight, Haynes was shot.

23 year old Jamarious Wright is now in Dougherty County jail, charged with possession firearm by a convicted felon. He had a first appearance. where he got $3,500 bond, but is still in jail.
