Douglas man arrested as Police investigate shooting

DOUGLAS, GA (WALB) - The Douglas Police Department is investigating a Friday night shooting that put Bryan Strickland in the hospital.

Sources tell WALB that Caleb Riggs has been charged with aggravated assault. The shooting happened at a home on North Wheeler Road late Friday night.

DPD says their investigation revealed that Wade Bryan Strickland and 31 year old Caleb Riggs, a resident of 201 North Wheeler Avenue, had gotten into a verbal dispute, which lead to a physical altercation.

During the altercation Caleb Riggs shot Wade Bryan Strickland, police say.

Caleb Riggs has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and is being held at the Coffee County Law Enforcement Center.

As of this time, Wade Bryan Strickland is hospitalized at the Coffee Regional Medical Center.  The investigation into this case is ongoing.
