Four young people were arrested for snatching a woman's purse at the Albany Mall Tuesday afternoon. Police say a 12 year old grabbed Faye Sweat's purse inside Belks.
Albany Police Chief Michael Persley says they've investigated other reports recently of kids breaking into homes and cars. He warns parents to enroll their children in supervised activities during spring break next week.
Persley said "Take advantage of these activities that they can be involved in so they don't have to be involved in anything that could be criminal in nature, and end up in jail or the RYDC."
About 10:30 Tuesday night four teens went to the Albany Law Enforcement Center threatening to harm officers for locking up a friend.
Police are still investigating whether they were upset by the arrest of the teens at the mall. Officers later arrested those teens nearby for loitering and prowling.
