CAMILLA, GA (WALB) -

The "Citizens of Camilla Evolutionary Organization" is working to recall four council members.

Monday afternoon, they submitted recall petition applications targeting Annie Doris Willingham, Vivian Smith, Bryant Campbell, and Danny Palmer.

Critics claim those council members aren't representing constituents well and violated the open meetings law, though the city attorney says that's not true.
The group's previous attempt failed.

"Now that we have all of the instructions, we are pretty confident that what we have now is going to make it through,” said Gwen Thomas, Co-chair Founder of Citizens of Camilla Evolutionary Organization. “We checked and we double checked, so we're pretty confident that we got the right number of sponsors.”

WALB tried to reach out to all the council members in question.
They either had no comment or didn't answer our calls.
If these applications are approved, a judge will decide if there's a valid reason to allow the group to move forward with their recall effort.
