BLAKELY, GA (WALB) -

The First Alert Storm Tracker made its way through the streets of downtown Blakely Saturday morning.

Our very own Andrew Gorton was there to celebrate the 8th annual Peanut Proud Festival.

People participated in a 5K run, and children enjoyed several activities such as and arts and crafts.

Peanut Proud Festival Co-Chair Mike Newberry says the festival has been a huge success, attracting thousands of people and close to 100 vendors.

"This whole festival today is a celebration of peanuts for our community and our region and how important peanuts are to us," said Newberry.

Country music star Tracy Lawrence performed this afternoon.

There will be a street dance later on Saturday.

There's also still time to enjoy the festival, as activities will continue until 11 p.m.
