ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany police responded to an incident with a bullet, that caused two boys to be sent the hospital.

The boys were playing with a .223 live bullet cartridge at a home on Corn Avenue at about 11:30 a.m. They were tapping it on the wall and it discharged.

One of the boys was hit in the face with unburned propellant, which caused a number of small contusions to his face.

The second boy, who was holding the cartridge when it went off, was cut by the cartridge as it exploded and came apart.

Both of the boys were transported to the hospital by EMS.
