CRISP CO., GA (WALB) - Deputies have seized more than 4 and a half pounds of marijuana in traffic stops this week.

Deputies pulled over a speeding car and found load of 3 and a half pounds. An Albany man was caught with more than a pound of marijuana and a gun on a separate stop.

Deputies say they're committed to getting drugs out of the community.

"Drugs actually lead to a lot of other crimes that occur. We do everything within our power to put a lot of emphasis on enforcing and combatting the drug trade," said Sgt. Ben Sumner.

Almarick Thompson, 39, of Lithonia was arrested in the first bust. Lexus De Jon Hill, 23, of Albany faces distribution and charges in the second case.
