SUMTER CO., GA (WALB) -

Middle school students got a chance to see the importance of staying in school today through an interactive tool. The choice bus stopped by the school Wednesday. The bus is half school bus, half prison bus.

The students got advice about staying in school in a short video featuring prisoners who dropped out.

Students then see a mock prison cell in the back of the bus.

“What we're trying to do is provide them an interactive learning tool so they can see the consequences of choices in their lives, particularly education,” said Chet Pennock, lead presenter with the Mattie C. Stewart Foundation.

The bus will be back at Sumter Middle Thursday. State Farm sponsors the nationwide tour for students.
