AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - An Americus stabbing suspect says the alleged victim lied to police about what happened.
Rodrick Johnson told police that he was confronted and stabbed at a home at 215 Jackson Street.
But Joseph White, the man charged, says it actually happened at White's house, next door.
White says he acted in self-defense after Johnson threatened to shoot up his home and wait on White's mother, outside.
"So that's when I grabbed my knife and I cut him. It happened in my yard, and not at the boarding house. And I don't know why this transcript say it happened at a boarding house. It happened at 217, and not 215, and I'm here to turn myself in, because I got every right to defend my household," White said.
White turned himself in on aggravated assault charges.
