College & Career Academy board members announced

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Board members are announced for the Commodore Conyers College & Career Academy in Albany.

Monday night, the Dougherty County School board approved a 10 member Board of Directors.
It includes representatives from the School System, Albany State, Albany Tech, Darton, the Chamber, and the EDC.

"They actually will be the driving force behind the College & Career Academy,” said Dr. David Mosely, Dougherty County School Superintendent. “Just like my board here they'll serve that same role with the College & Career they will have hiring and firing power. Actually they will hire the CEO and then we will hire a principal."   

The board will elect a chairman before hiring a CEO.

    A South Georgia community is calling for a stronger police presence after someone broke into a woman's home and stole from her. It happened just sometime Saturday afternoon on the 3000 block of Woodridge Court in Dougherty County.
