ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Anticipation is at an all-time high for for next weekend as Albany will play host to basketball stars all over South Georgia.
Tickets are on sale for the 6th annual All-star weekend. Saturday afternoon players and coaches met at Darton State to practice and gameplan for the big event.
The 2-day event will consist of All-star games for different levels ranging from elementary school up to high school, girls and boys.
Top players from Albany to Florida will come out to compete. The organizer EJ Brown says this year the Good Life City will get a show like no other.
"We try to do something different every year," said Brown. "So this year we added a Stop the Violence Community Heroes celebrity game. People say we don't have celebrities in Albany, but we have community heroes. So we got a great group of individuals."
"It's good because you get to open relationships up with other people," said Thomasville sophomore Reginald Perry who will compete in the Future stars game. "And other players around the state and get to know them better."
Tickets are on sale for 12 dollars. The weekend starts at 6 PM on Friday at Darton State gym with the Community Heroes game.
